We quickly leave the main road. The first part is tarmac but becomes a broad track winding through the olive groves. We then turn left and start to climb the steep side of the mountain. Do enjoy the views in all directions. Nearing the top we then turn left . We will walk 2 km to the top of El Hacho, here there is an optional extra to the cross that overlooks Alora, and then return to this point. The route proceeds downhill following the other side of the mountain. We then take a narrow track for a short distance to link up with a wide track back to Alora and then to the Venta. Sticks advisable in places. Total climb 575 m. The walk although hard because of the climb is not difficult
